The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 4 played minutes Guadiana got a freekick which was hit by Lenílson Cardoso. In the 7th match minute, Guadiana was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicolas Quirino to maneuver through the defense. Giovanni Nogueira kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Nildo da Silveira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Régis Maia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Teobaldo Casado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Morrinhos Futebol Clube's Nilton Melo managed to work through Guadiana's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Nilton Melo dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. The supporters of Guadiana booed when Morrinhos Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristóvão Antunes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lenílson Cardoso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nildo da Silveira having to interfere. After 22 played minutes Morrinhos Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Cristóvão Antunes. When Nilton Melo in the 25th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Aírton Bueno kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 1-0 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. Thanks to some nice moves Teobaldo Casado could shoot a difficult shot in the 28th minute, which Aírton Bueno however easily saved by the left post. 30 minutes into the match, Guadiana's goalkeeper Aírton Bueno had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Allan de Carvalho. Nilton Melo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Aírton Bueno made a huge save. Nicolas Quirino hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Régis Maia in the 39th minute of play forced Morrinhos Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Nildo da Silveira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 40th minute, Morrinhos Futebol Clube's Eugênio de Toledo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Aírton Bueno. Aírton Bueno yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Eugênio de Toledo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Aírton Bueno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Teobaldo Casado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aírton Bueno having to interfere. Aírton Bueno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eugênio de Toledo in the 53rd minute of play. Aírton Bueno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teobaldo Casado in the 54th minute of the match. If Teobaldo Casado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nildo da Silveira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nicolas Quirino in the 57th minute. After some careless play in the Guadiana defense, Eugênio de Toledo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aírton Bueno. The Guadiana fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aírton Bueno should have stopped the shot. In the 66th minute, Nilton Melo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nildo da Silveira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lenílson Cardoso in the 67th minute of the match. Aírton Bueno took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Allan de Carvalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 72nd minute, Nilton Melo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Aírton Bueno was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. Ulisses Guerra kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. A collision led to Guadiana getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Lenílson Cardoso hit a great ball. Aírton Bueno took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teobaldo Casado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nilton Melo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Morrinhos Futebol Clube had played much better football throughout.
