The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Elias Arruda made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Paulo Renato Gaspar sent off a good shot on target. In the 6th minute Velez do Jockey FC were awarded a corner. Ricardinho Dionísio went to the cornerflag to take it. 9 minutes into the game, Michal Kaczanka cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Cléber de Queirós was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some careless play in the Velez do Jockey FC defense, Jorginho Queiroz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cléber de Queirós. The Velez do Jockey FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cléber de Queirós should have stopped the shot. Cléber de Queirós made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Michal Kaczanka in the 16th minute of play. After 19 minutes, Sylvester Schwarzenegger made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Velez do Jockey FC's Cléber de Queirós tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 22 minutes into the match, Wilson Rodrigues had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cléber de Queirós. Velez do Jockey FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wilson Rodrigues was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. The audience was convinced that Sylvester Schwarzenegger's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cléber de Queirós was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. When Antropofagia FC's Wilson Rodrigues, in the 29th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Antropofagia FC. Cléber de Queirós took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Michal Kaczanka, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jorginho Queiroz scored 0-5 in the 33rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cléber de Queirós, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 37 minutes, Michal Kaczanka managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Antropofagia FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Michal Kaczanka was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sylvester Schwarzenegger scored 0-6 in the 38th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cléber de Queirós, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Michal Kaczanka sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Antropofagia FC fans' excitement grew in the 44th match minute when Antropofagia FC's Michal Kaczanka looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-7 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-7.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Michal Kaczanka to strike the kick off in the second half. The Antropofagia FC fans' excitement grew in the 51st match minute when Antropofagia FC's Michal Kaczanka looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-8 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After having played for 54 minutes, Serafim Severo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. But to his dismay, Michal Kaczanka quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-9. A collision led to Antropofagia FC getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Jorginho Queiroz hit a great ball. Antropofagia FC made a substitution. Denílson Oliveira replaced Dito Ramos. The supporters of Velez do Jockey FC booed when Antropofagia FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorginho Queiroz didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 63rd match minute, Velez do Jockey FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ricardinho Dionísio to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Velez do Jockey FC's Rodrigo Freitas got a free kick in the 70th minute. Cléber de Queirós was out of position in the 72 minute of play, and Jorginho Queiroz capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Jorginho Queiroz really showed his touch with that goal: 0-11. In the 77th minute, Antropofagia FC's Sylvester Schwarzenegger ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Cléber de Queirós. Cléber de Queirós yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-12. In the 81st minute, Michal Kaczanka made a precise shot to the right of Cléber de Queirós. Velez do Jockey FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-13. Cléber de Queirós made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Jorginho Queiroz sent off a good shot on target. Sylvester Schwarzenegger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cléber de Queirós having to interfere. 94 minutes into the match, Velez do Jockey FC's goalkeeper Cléber de Queirós had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jorginho Queiroz. Antropofagia FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
