The ball went over the crossbar instead. 12 minutes into the game, Caarapo SS's Ruy Dracena nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alfredo Fernandez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. In the 19th minute Jesper Åberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredo Fernandez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carlinhos Vianna kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. In the 25th match minute, Guayra FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wilton Albuquerque to maneuver through the defense. 26 minutes into the match, Caarapo SS's Téo Aparecido sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alfredo Fernandez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Caarapo SS booed when Guayra FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Geovani Goiano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alfredo Fernandez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jesper Åberg's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. Jesper Åberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alfredo Fernandez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jesper Åberg in the 43rd minute of the match. In the 45th minute, Jesper Åberg made a precise shot to the right of Alfredo Fernandez. Guayra FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jesper Åberg made a kick off. Baltazar Fonseca kicked well hit freekick during the 50th minute of the match. After 53 minutes, Carlinhos Vianna mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Guayra FC and the Caarapo SS players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 53rd minute, Carlinhos Vianna hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A sloppy throw-in by Jânio Tepedino in the 54th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Caarapo SS's Cassidy Wang. Adrián Czornomaz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sidnei de Souza having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Baltazar Fonseca during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When Cassidy Wang came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Caarapo SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cassidy Wang couldn't finish the play. Alfredo Fernandez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cassidy Wang in the 69th minute of play. If Jesper Åberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jesper Åberg scored 0-8 in the 75th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alfredo Fernandez, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 78 minutes, Jesper Åberg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Caarapo SS and the Guayra FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Guayra FC's Evaristo Cearense was substituted for Silvio Arano. After 80 played minutes Caarapo SS got a freekick which was hit by Jesper Åberg. Geovani Goiano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Caarapo SS's zone, Adrián Czornomaz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sidnei de Souza came out of the goal and Adrián Czornomaz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cassidy Wang hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. After 97 played minutes Caarapo SS got a freekick which was hit by Cassidy Wang. The Guayra FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Caarapo SS were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
