But to his dismay, Elivélton Aparecido quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 9 minutes into the match, Kléber Rodrigues had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Geraldo Queiroz. Rockets's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kléber Rodrigues was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Dudu Madureiras short, quick shot in the 12thth minute got Sérgio Trevisan to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 13 minutes into the match, Elivélton Aparecido had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Geraldo Queiroz. If Kléber Rodrigues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 23 minutes into the game, Cambridge Esporte Clube's Kléber Rodrigues nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Geraldo Queiroz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. When Naldo Garcia fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rockets's protests and gave Naldo Garcia a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Rockets getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Naldo Garcia hit a great ball. In the 36th minute, Jailson Loyola left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cambridge Esporte Clube fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-7. Rockets's Geraldo Queiroz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jailson Loyola in the 48th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-8.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dudu Madureira to make the kick off. Kléber Rodrigues could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Geraldo Queiroz made a huge save. In the 56th minute, Elivélton Aparecido left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cambridge Esporte Clube fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-9. Rockets's defense didn't have a chance, in the 64th minute, when Kléber Rodrigues scored to the left of an out of position Geraldo Queiroz, making the score, 0-10. 67 minutes into the match, Rockets's goalkeeper Geraldo Queiroz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Teodoro Dantas. 68 minutes into the match, Elivélton Aparecido notched a goal, 0-11, to the right of Rockets's Geraldo Queiroz. Geraldo Queiroz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Kléber Rodrigues recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Zé Carlos Machado received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Geraldo Queiroz came out and tried to block the shot, but Zé Carlos Machado slotted it home off the left post making it 0-12 in the 72nd minute. In the 77th minute, Jailson Loyola made a precise shot to the right of Geraldo Queiroz. Rockets's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-13. Geraldo Queiroz was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Kléber Rodrigues showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-14 in the 83 minute of play. Rockets's defense didn't have a chance, in the 88th minute, when Zé Carlos Machado scored to the left of an out of position Geraldo Queiroz, making the score, 0-15. Geraldo Queiroz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elivélton Aparecido in the 93rd minute of the match. Zé Carlos Machado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Geraldo Queiroz having to interfere. Kléber Rodrigues could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 97th minute of the match, but Geraldo Queiroz made a huge save. Cambridge Esporte Clube's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
