Spectators: 7755 (Terracing: 5818, Seating: 1783, VIP seats: 154) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Agostinho Félix started the match with the kick off. Palmeiras - Tia Leila's Elano Rezende played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agostinho Félix in the 6th minute of play. 10 minutes into the game, Agostinho Félix was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Trivela FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Palmeiras - Tia Leila the free kick. The supporters of Palmeiras - Tia Leila booed when Trivela FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agostinho Félix didn't get a good kick on the ball. Genílson Mandrak hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Trivela FC's Vágner Galvão got control of the ball when Caco Barbosa tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 20th minute, Trivela FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Genílson Mandrak fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 23rd play minute Caco Barbosa came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Vágner Galvão. 1-0. Caco Barbosa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vágner Galvão read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Genílson Mandrak managed to get in a good position for a shot. Palmeiras - Tia Leila's supporters rose to their feet, but Genílson Mandrak was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vágner Galvão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Caco Barbosa got free with Vágner Galvão in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Elano Rezende showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zeca Vergílio, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. In the 37th minute of the match, Caco Barbosa got a very nice opportunity to score, but Vágner Galvão was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Caco Barbosa struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Vágner Galvão didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Palmeiras - Tia Leila. After 48 minutes Trivela FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Olívio Sá who took care of the corner kick. It was a well-played corner which Caco Barbosa managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Caco Barbosa made a kick off. Trivela FC's Vágner Galvão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Genílson Mandrak in the 58th minute of play. The corner led Palmeiras - Tia Leila's Joachim Svenkerud to fire away a dangerous shot which Vágner Galvão despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When the match had gone on for 60 minutes, Joachim Svenkerud put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Vágner Galvão. Agostinho Félix received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Elano Rezende came out and tried to block the shot, but Agostinho Félix slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 64th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rubens da Silveira during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Trivela FC's Rubens da Silveira got a free kick in the 68th minute. Genílson Mandrak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vágner Galvão having to interfere. Frank Guedes made in the 71st minute of the game a quick throw-in and Agostinho Félix immediately put the ball in play. In the 74th minute, Caco Barbosa made a precise shot to the right of Vágner Galvão. Trivela FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Palmeiras - Tia Leila's Richard de Senna was substituted for Olívio Sá. Genílson Mandrak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vágner Galvão having to interfere. In the 81stth minute of the game Genílson Mandrak who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Trivela FC's Vágner Galvão was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Elano Rezende showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zeca Vergílio in the 83rd minute of the match. Roger Furtado kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. In the 85th match minute, Trivela FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roger Furtado to maneuver through the defense. Alfredão Prata recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agostinho Félix in the 92nd minute of play forced Palmeiras - Tia Leila's goalkeeper Elano Rezende to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 96 minutes into the match, Trivela FC's goal looked a bit too open when Luizinho Quadros came free, but Vágner Galvão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Palmeiras - Tia Leila were awarded a corner in the 97th minute after Trivela FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Bebeto Recife took the corner. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Palmeiras - Tia Leila fans cheered their team off the field, for while Trivela FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
