Fausto Neves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Clóvis Ferraz in the 4th minute of the match. With a little luck, Atlanta United F.C.'s Mané França got control of the ball when Raimundo Paraense tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Fabinho Salgado fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Atlanta United F.C.'s protests and gave Fabinho Salgado a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Argento 1972 booed when Atlanta United F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabinho Salgado didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 11th minute of the match Argento 1972 got a corner. Atlanta United F.C.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Zachariasz Bronicki ran over to the corner to take the kick. Zachariasz Bronicki made a great header on Argento 1972's corner, it was just that Atlanta United F.C.'s Mané França managed to reach the ball for a save. Fausto Neves stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Serafim de Carvalho's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. Mané França didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hamdi Sunay went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. 23 minutes into the match, Atlanta United F.C.'s goalkeeper Mané França had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Raimundo Paraense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hamdi Sunay in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mané França prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Armando da Fonseca made in the 26th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by José Vítor Batista. In the 27th match minute, Atlanta United F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fred Fernandez to maneuver through the defense. Mané França made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Raimundo Paraense sent off a good shot on target. Fabinho Salgado hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. A collision led to Atlanta United F.C. getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Fellipe Ramos hit a great ball. Serafim de Carvalho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 38 minutes into the game, Atlanta United F.C.'s José Vítor Batista nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fausto Neves made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 43rd minute Hamdi Sunay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mané França saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 46th minute, Alex Hermes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Serafim de Carvalho made a kick off. Serafim de Carvalho scored 1-2 in the 53rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fausto Neves, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 66 minutes, Hamdi Sunay managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Argento 1972's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hamdi Sunay was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Atlanta United F.C.'s Serafim de Carvalho got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. José Vítor Batista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Serafim de Carvalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Serafim de Carvalho got free with Fausto Neves in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alex Hermes kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Argento 1972's zone, José Vítor Batista stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fausto Neves came out of the goal and José Vítor Batista tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alex Hermes hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. In the 82nd minute, Atlanta United F.C.'s Serafim de Carvalho ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Fausto Neves. Fausto Neves yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alex Hermes in the 85th minute of play forced Atlanta United F.C.'s goalkeeper Mané França to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 96th minute, Raimundo Paraense ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mané França was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-3.
