Benjamin Meira was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 14th match minute, Araraquara SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zé Damião to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Araraquara SS's Erivaldo Nogueira got control of the ball when Elivélton Couto tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some careless play in the Clube de Regatas Flalengo defense, Edinho Viana kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benjamin Meira. The Clube de Regatas Flalengo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benjamin Meira should have stopped the shot. After 80 played minutes Sidney Soares rounded Clube de Regatas Flalengo's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-4. Erivaldo Nogueira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elivélton Couto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Erivaldo Nogueira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elivélton Couto in the 85th minute of the match. In the 90th minute Mazinho Lara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erivaldo Nogueira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 92 minutes of play, Araraquara SS's Abel Trevisan made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benjamin Meira was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience thought a goal was coming when Sidney Soares got free with Benjamin Meira in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Chants of Araraquara SS echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Clube de Regatas Flalengo had held the ball for most of the match.
