Kazimierz Madej fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juan Arantes having to interfere. After 30 minutes, Karol Smolarek mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CRICIÚMA E.C. and the Tabajara Londrina LBFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind CRICIÚMA E.C.'s goalkeeper Célio Lopes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 32 minutes had been played when some careless play by CRICIÚMA E.C.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Válbson Fernandes was slow to take the kick. During this time Tabajara Londrina LBFC's players had a chance to rest. Juan Arantes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After 73 played minutes Tabajara Londrina LBFC got a freekick which was hit by Melquiades Maiorga. Tabajara Londrina LBFC's Juan Arantes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Tabajara Londrina LBFC from getting a goal against them. When Kazimierz Madej came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the CRICIÚMA E.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kazimierz Madej couldn't finish the play. CRICIÚMA E.C. played a much better game than Tabajara Londrina LBFC and deserved their victory. The Tabajara Londrina LBFC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
