Marcelo Lomba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frank Siqueira in the 12th minute of the match. Frank Siqueira took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcelo Lomba. Marcelo Lomba dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. When Frank Siqueira came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Doug Zappa F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frank Siqueira couldn't finish the play. If Luís Eduardo Salles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 17th minute, Luiz Gustavo Paes reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Iwan Kolbe. The goal made the score 1-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luís Eduardo Salles got free with Iwan Kolbe in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Esporte Club Bahia's zone, Jonas Domingues stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcelo Lomba came out of the goal and Jonas Domingues tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 25 minutes into the match, Esporte Club Bahia's goal looked a bit too open when Frank Siqueira came free, but Marcelo Lomba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Doug Zappa F.C.'s Iwan Kolbe got control of the ball when Luís Eduardo Salles tried to sneak it across the goal line. 38 minutes into the match, Jonas Domingues had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marcelo Lomba. Esporte Club Bahia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jonas Domingues was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3.
