Esporte Club Bahia's supporters rose to their feet, but Tiago Xavier was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oséas Trancoso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Esporte Club Bahia's zone, Leonard Setara stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcelo Lomba came out of the goal and Leonard Setara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Esporte Club Bahia walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
