An unexpectedly hard shot by João Vítor Sabóia in the 3rd minute of play forced Vila Aurora FC's goalkeeper Chicão Leal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lauro Ribeiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adilson Tepedino, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Vila Aurora FC were awarded a corner in the 6th minute after Bahia EC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Breno Borges took the corner. Vila Aurora FC's Breno Borges was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Lauro Ribeiro in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Bahia EC's Lauro Ribeiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silvinho de Senna in the 11th minute of play. Vila Aurora FC's Chicão Leal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by César Leme in the 14th minute of play. 15 minutes into the game, Adilson Tepedino cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Lauro Ribeiro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Lauro Ribeiro came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by Vila Aurora FC's Adilson Tepedino. But to his dismay, Adilson Tepedino quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Bahia EC's Lauro Ribeiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Naldo Antunes in the 23rd minute of play. 24 minutes into the match, Naldo Antunes notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Bahia EC's Lauro Ribeiro. Lauro Ribeiro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 27th minute, Silvinho de Senna made a precise shot to the right of Lauro Ribeiro. Bahia EC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. Lauro Ribeiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Naldo Antunes, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Disappointed in the 0-6 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Lauro Ribeiro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-7. Valdemar Barros hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. In the 57th minute, Vila Aurora FC's Silvinho de Senna ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Lauro Ribeiro. Lauro Ribeiro yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-8. In the 67th minute César Leme shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chicão Leal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Bahia EC getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Luiz Gustavo Gamarra hit a great ball. Bahia EC's Lauro Ribeiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save Bahia EC from getting a goal against them. Chicão Leal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from João Vítor Sabóia in the 70th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Flavinho Dionísio in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lauro Ribeiro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Bahia EC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 75th minute, when Adilson Tepedino scored to the left of an out of position Lauro Ribeiro, making the score, 0-9. 78 minutes into the game, Bahia EC's César Leme nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Chicão Leal made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-9. Lauro Ribeiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Naldo Antunes in the 81st minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vágner Rosado in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. When César Leme came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Bahia EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that César Leme couldn't finish the play. 93 minutes into the game, Naldo Antunes recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Lauro Ribeiro. Naldo Antunes showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-10. The crowd rose to their feet as Adilson Tepedino kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Lauro Ribeiro. That made the score 1-11 in the 96 minute of play. Vila Aurora FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
