The Atlético Campoverdense fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Skafti Hermansson should have stopped the shot. Elias Sousa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Eduardo Ceresso in the 15th minute of the match. After 15 minutes of play, Atlético Campoverdense's Luís Eduardo Ceresso made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Elias Sousa was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Luís Eduardo Ceresso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. Andrézinho Tinoco did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 3-1 to the left of a surprised Skafti Hermansson 30 minutes into the match. Jon Samuelsson took the ball and in the 33 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Elias Sousa. Elias Sousa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. In the 36th minute, Luís Eduardo Ceresso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Skafti Hermansson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Andrézinho Tinoco in the 40th minute. Andrézinho Tinoco blasted a shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Skafti Hermansson having to make a save. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jon Samuelsson was the one to do the kick off. After 52 played minutes Douradinho EC got a freekick which was hit by Claudinho Baptista. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Claudinho Baptista during the 53rd minute. The audience was convinced that Andrézinho Tinoco's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Skafti Hermansson was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. After 79 minutes Douradinho EC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Waldir Netto who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Atlético Campoverdense's Jon Samuelsson to fire away a dangerous shot which Elias Sousa despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Andrézinho Tinoco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Waldir Netto hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match.
