In the 5th minute, Emílio Motta ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Christian Barreto was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Duda Marinho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cauan Arruda's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Christian Barreto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. 13 minutes into the match, CRUZEIRO S.A's goal looked a bit too open when Duda Marinho came free, but Christian Barreto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match clock showed 15 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Duda Marinho sped through CRUZEIRO S.A's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Christian Barreto. 17 minutes into the match, Duda Marinho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Christian Barreto. CRUZEIRO S.A's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Duda Marinho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. A collision led to Parque Morumbi getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Cauan Arruda hit a great ball. After some careless play in the CRUZEIRO S.A defense, Duda Marinho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Christian Barreto. The CRUZEIRO S.A fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Christian Barreto should have stopped the shot. In the 27th minute, Jefferson Bastos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Parque Morumbi fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. In the 47thth minute of the game Duda Marinho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but CRUZEIRO S.A's Christian Barreto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-6 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After a rather tough play, Parque Morumbi's José Vítor do Vale got a free kick in the 53rd minute. In the 54th minute of the match Carlinhos de Mendonça shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Argoitz Santatis showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Emílio Motta might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Christian Barreto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Emílio Motta ran back to his position shaking his head. Argoitz Santatis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudinho Terra in the 58th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Parque Morumbi's José Vítor do Vale got a free kick in the 59th minute. In the 61st minute, Isaltino Pimenta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Duda Marinho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Parque Morumbi's supporters rose to their feet, but Duda Marinho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Christian Barreto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Claudinho Terra kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Emílio Motta was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 70th minute. Parque Morumbi's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 72ndth minute of the game Duda Marinho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but CRUZEIRO S.A's Christian Barreto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match clock showed 73 minutes, the score became 0-8 when Duda Marinho sped through CRUZEIRO S.A's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Christian Barreto. After 77 minutes of play, Parque Morumbi's Duda Marinho made it 0-9 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Christian Barreto was left in no man's land by his defense there! Christian Barreto made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Duda Marinho sent off a good shot on target. Christian Barreto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emílio Motta, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Toninho Salles recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Duda Marinho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Christian Barreto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. José Vítor do Vale recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Parque Morumbi played a much better game than CRUZEIRO S.A and deserved their victory. The CRUZEIRO S.A players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
