Adalberto de Moraes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sílvio Luís Vinhas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 5-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 53rd minute, Orhun Taran got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ricardo Beckenbauer got in the 57th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Gláuber Ramalho handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. 59 minutes into the game, Guarani Futebol Clube's Orhun Taran nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gláuber Ramalho made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-0. 64 minutes into the match, Ricardo Beckenbauer had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gláuber Ramalho. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nicolas de Amaral couldn't finish the play. 74 minutes into the game, Orhun Taran cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 8-0. Gláuber Ramalho was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in S. E. Palestra's zone, Ferenc Puskás stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gláuber Ramalho came out of the goal and Ferenc Puskás tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 82 minutes into the game, Orhun Taran cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 9-0. Gláuber Ramalho was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Orhun Taran fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gláuber Ramalho having to interfere. A collision led to S. E. Palestra getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Tiaguinho Peixoto hit a great ball. When Ferenc Puskás came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Guarani Futebol Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ferenc Puskás couldn't finish the play. In the 97th minute, Wiliam Viana hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
