Palestra's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rui França was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sílvio Luís Vinhas in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. Olívio Sousa received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Gláuber Ramalho came out and tried to block the shot, but Olívio Sousa slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 86th minute. The S. E. Palestra manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Agroboys SM - CIMZ to win.
