In the 13th minute, Donato Botelho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luizão Braga was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Luizão Braga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Magno Nunes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luizão Braga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Caco Guimarães, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Rua Ferreira Viana F.C.'s Caco Guimarães managed to work through Maragua EC's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Caco Guimarães dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Donato Botelho in the 26th minute of play forced Maragua EC's goalkeeper Luizão Braga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tomé Oliveira made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Pedro Luís Pitta sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Rua Ferreira Viana F.C. booed when Maragua EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erik Favoretto didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Maragua EC defense, Caco Guimarães kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luizão Braga. The Maragua EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luizão Braga should have stopped the shot. Caco Guimarães took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Luizão Braga. Luizão Braga dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. In the 39th minute, Téo Campidelis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rua Ferreira Viana F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-6. Danilo de Mendonça hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-6 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Magno Nunes to make the kick off. Maragua EC's Luizão Braga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulo Mota in the 52nd minute of play. In the 53rd minute, Rua Ferreira Viana F.C.'s Téo Campidelis ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Luizão Braga. Luizão Braga yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-7. Erik Favoretto kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. The supporters of Rua Ferreira Viana F.C. booed when Maragua EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erik Favoretto didn't get a good kick on the ball. 65 minutes into the match, Maragua EC's goalkeeper Luizão Braga had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Téo Campidelis. Maragua EC's Luizão Braga proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save Maragua EC from getting a goal against them. 67 minutes into the game, Zé Carlos de Barros was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player.
