Dedê Toscano received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Baldomiro Navarro came out and tried to block the shot, but Dedê Toscano slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 19th minute. Virgílio Madureira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Serafim Zanette, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Serafim Zanette in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Virgílio Madureira saved Clube Athletico Valão from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 28 minutes, Serafim Zanette put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Virgílio Madureira. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Pedro Couto in the 33rd minute of play forced Martelet's goalkeeper Baldomiro Navarro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
