The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Selemengo's Gualter da Cunha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Betão Neves in the 5th minute of play. Severino Azevedo hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. In the 9th minute, João Paulo Ceresso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Betão Neves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Gualter da Cunha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gualter da Cunha stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Betão Neves's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. Gualter da Cunha came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by Trembolona's Betão Neves. But to his dismay, Betão Neves quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcos Santos in the 21st minute of play forced Selemengo's goalkeeper Gualter da Cunha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Betão Neves managed to get in a good position for a shot. Trembolona's supporters rose to their feet, but Betão Neves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gualter da Cunha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 24th minute, Betão Neves made a precise shot to the right of Gualter da Cunha. Selemengo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. In the 29th minute, Ademar Cabral made a precise shot to the right of Gualter da Cunha. Tiago de Queiroz didn't get a good kick on the ball. 46 minutes into the game, Trembolona's Betão Neves nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gualter da Cunha made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. After the first half Trembolona were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Betão Neves to make the kick off. After 53 played minutes Selemengo got a freekick which was hit by João Paulo Ceresso. With a little luck, Selemengo's Gualter da Cunha got control of the ball when Betão Neves tried to sneak it across the goal line. Marcos Santos took the ball and in the 57 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gualter da Cunha. Gualter da Cunha dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-6. In the 61st minute of the match, Betão Neves got a very nice opportunity to score, but Gualter da Cunha was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The Trembolona fans' excitement grew in the 62nd match minute when Trembolona's Betão Neves looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-7 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Diguinho do Vale during the 65th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Aílton Guimarães had several of the Selemengo's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 88 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-10 score and a disappointed Gualter da Cunha as he didn't even see the shot coming. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aílton Guimarães got free with Gualter da Cunha in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 94th minute, Aílton Guimarães made a precise shot to the right of Gualter da Cunha. Selemengo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-11. The Selemengo fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Trembolona were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
