Spectators: 7650 (Terracing: 5738, Seating: 1759, VIP seats: 153) THE MAYA's Gilmar Azevedo started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gilmar Azevedo charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gilmar Azevedo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Gilmar Azevedo hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Claudinho Taffarel didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Stian Selnes went, in the 3rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. In the 12th minute of the match Josué Aguiar shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Pedrinho de Queirós showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When THE MAYA's Gilmar Azevedo in the 19th minute got a chance for a shot 19th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Alfa FC's goalie prevented a goal. Ferreirinha Vinhas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ferreirinha Vinhas took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Claudinho Taffarel. Claudinho Taffarel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. When the match had gone on for 32 minutes, Simão de Barros put it in 2-2 from a short distance just to the right of Pedrinho de Queirós. Pedrinho de Queirós made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marco Albuquerque in the 34th minute of play. THE MAYA were awarded a corner in the 36th minute after Alfa FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Marco Albuquerque took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Geraldo Gonçalves got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Pedrinho de Queirós quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Geraldo Gonçalves in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pedrinho de Queirós saved Alfa FC from getting behind. Simão de Barros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With his leg Claudinho Taffarel managed to avoid a goal in the 40thth minute, when Alfa FC's Stian Selnes fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Matías Bezerra during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Alfa FC made a substitution. Sandrinho Godoi replaced Ole-Johan Larsen. After 45 played minutes THE MAYA got a freekick which was hit by Matías Bezerra. It was beautiful to see Alfa FC's Ciro Luz in action when he in the 47th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Gilmar Azevedo put it in 2-3 from a short distance just to the right of Pedrinho de Queirós. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ferreirinha Vinhas in the 54th minute of play forced THE MAYA's goalkeeper Claudinho Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 55th minute Alfa FC were awarded a corner. Stian Selnes went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner went over the outstretched arms of THE MAYA's goalie and right to Ferreirinha Vinhas. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. THE MAYA's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gilmar Azevedo got free with Pedrinho de Queirós in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Claudinho Taffarel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stian Selnes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Stian Selnes scored 3-3 in the 67th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Claudinho Taffarel, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. THE MAYA's Osvaldinho Mazza was substituted for Gilmar Azevedo. Geraldo Gonçalves could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Pedrinho de Queirós made a huge save. Claudinho Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stian Selnes in the 73rd minute of play. With his leg Pedrinho de Queirós managed to avoid a goal in the 76thth minute, when THE MAYA's Osvaldinho Mazza fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 78th minute, Narciso Aparecido hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marco Albuquerque could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Pedrinho de Queirós made a huge save. Sandrinho Godoi hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Simão de Barros blasted a shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pedrinho de Queirós having to make a save. In the 89th minute, Alfa FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Simão de Barros fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After 94 minutes, Osvaldinho Mazza made it 3-4 with a short kick to the right side. Alfa FC's Pedrinho de Queirós tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot.
