Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Avellano Bouzon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Célio Trevisan in the 4th minute of play. 7 minutes into the match, Gongonhas SS's goal looked a bit too open when Manfredo Meira came free, but Julio-César Fenomeno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gongonhas SS's Julio-César Fenomeno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manfredo Meira in the 14th minute of play. 17 minutes into the game, Chico Antunes recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Avellano Bouzon. Chico Antunes showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Gongonhas SS's Julio-César Fenomeno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aldo Baudelio in the 20th minute of play. In the 22nd minute, Aldo Baudelio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio-César Fenomeno was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. 29 minutes into the match, Aldo Baudelio notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Gongonhas SS's Julio-César Fenomeno. Julio-César Fenomeno was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 32ndth minute of the game Germán Kanø who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gongonhas SS's Julio-César Fenomeno was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 35th minute, Manfredo Meira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The GERSÃO FUTEBOL CLUBE fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. But to his dismay, Ediberto Duarte quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. After 45 minutes of play, GERSÃO FUTEBOL CLUBE's Aldo Baudelio made it 1-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio-César Fenomeno was left in no man's land by his defense there! The Gongonhas SS players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. GERSÃO FUTEBOL CLUBE were winning 1-5.

The wind increased when Aldo Baudelio made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Manfredo Meira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio-César Fenomeno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Célio Trevisan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Gongonhas SS's Julio-César Fenomeno got control of the ball when Germán Kanø tried to sneak it across the goal line. Germán Kanø received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Julio-César Fenomeno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 61 minutes into the match, Gongonhas SS's goalkeeper Julio-César Fenomeno had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Germán Kanø. Avellano Bouzon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chico Antunes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of GERSÃO FUTEBOL CLUBE booed when Gongonhas SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Norberto Tróia didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 67th minute, Manfredo Meira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio-César Fenomeno was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-6. Julio-César Fenomeno made an important save on a dangerous shot by Germán Kanø in the 73rd minute. After 74 minutes, Dito da Silva mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gongonhas SS and the GERSÃO FUTEBOL CLUBE players grew even worse after the yellow card. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Manfredo Meira couldn't finish the play. Julio-César Fenomeno was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Manfredo Meira showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-8 in the 90 minute of play. When the match was over GERSÃO FUTEBOL CLUBE could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Gongonhas SS throughout the match.
