The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd match minute, Goiás Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jarbas Brito to maneuver through the defense. Simão Branco was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 4th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Ervalzinho's Ulysses Camargo got a free kick in the 10th minute. Dominik Bartelak took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgard Cabral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Isaias Erasto kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. In the 17th minute of the match Edgard Cabral shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dominik Bartelak showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 23 played minutes Goiás Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Jarbas Brito. Simão Branco, 24 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 29th minute Edgard Cabral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dominik Bartelak saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Ervalzinho's Cafu Queirós got a free kick in the 30th minute. 35 minutes into the match, Valdemar Saldanha notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Goiás Esporte Clube's Mané Quirino. Mané Quirino was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 39th minute, Ulysses Camargo made a precise shot to the right of Mané Quirino. Goiás Esporte Clube's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Ulysses Camargo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Alfredo Aparecido made the kick off in the second half. Mané Quirino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ulysses Camargo in the 57th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgard Cabral in the 74th minute of play forced Ervalzinho's goalkeeper Dominik Bartelak to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 76 minutes into the match, Ervalzinho's goal looked a bit too open when Edgard Cabral came free, but Dominik Bartelak reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mané Quirino was a little too slow when Kauan Guimarães got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 82nd minute. The score was now 1-3. The Goiás Esporte Clube fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ervalzinho were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
