Álvaro Scherer ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Timão F.C. booed when Xandeco FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilmar Velloso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Xandeco FC's Guga de Azevedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Toto Škarpa in the 15th minute of play. In the 16th minute of the match Timão F.C. got a corner. Xandeco FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Wang Qian Liang ran over to the corner to take the kick. 20 minutes into the match, Toto Škarpa notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Xandeco FC's Guga de Azevedo. Guga de Azevedo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Guga de Azevedo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Toto Škarpa in the 33rd minute. Toto Škarpa might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Guga de Azevedo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Toto Škarpa ran back to his position shaking his head. After 38 played minutes Timão F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Silvério Romero. Toto Škarpa kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Toto Škarpa made the kick off in the second half. Guga de Azevedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Toto Škarpa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Celestino Gervaso was out of position in the 55 minute of play, and Nicolas Nóbrega capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Nicolas Nóbrega really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Guga de Azevedo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Álvaro Scherer went, in the 60th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind Xandeco FC's goalkeeper Guga de Azevedo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Celestino Gervaso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edmund Balkiewicz's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. In the 69th minute Toto Škarpa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guga de Azevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Xandeco FC's Dino Amorim was substituted for Luiz Torres. Edmund Balkiewicz received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
