Luís Gustavo Barreto didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nico Barros went, in the 8th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind EC Fragata's goalkeeper Luís Gustavo Barreto, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 17 minutes, Gino Couto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. XV Piracicaba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gino Couto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luís Gustavo Barreto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miguel Ángel Furland, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fred Urbano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marcus Valladares in the 20th minute. Luís Gustavo Barreto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nico Barros in the 23rd minute of play. Luís Gustavo Barreto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nico Barros, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Marcus Valladares might have been able to make a better finish in the 72nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fred Urbano. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marcus Valladares ran back to his position shaking his head. Fred Urbano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcus Valladares in the 74th minute of the match. After some careless play in the EC Fragata defense, Gino Couto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luís Gustavo Barreto. The EC Fragata fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luís Gustavo Barreto should have stopped the shot. After 79 minutes of play, XV Piracicaba's Nico Barros made it 0-8 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Luís Gustavo Barreto was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luís Gustavo Barreto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Miguel Ángel Furland in the 84th minute. XV Piracicaba's Gino Couto got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as XV Piracicaba's Gino Couto slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Luís Gustavo Barreto. That made the score 0-9 after 87 minutes of play. A collision led to XV Piracicaba getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Edward Hryc hit a great ball. Marcus Valladares struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Fred Urbano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for EC Fragata. When the final whistle sounded XV Piracicaba left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than EC Fragata.
