Gremio NG's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. If Herminio Izel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Fábio Pinheiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Herminio Izel, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Gremio NG's goalkeeper Fábio Pinheiro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ernesto Prosperi made a kick off. Bernardo Vinhas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Fábio Pinheiro made a huge save. In the 52nd minute, SPFC's Bernardo Vinhas ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Fábio Pinheiro. Luisinho Mangueira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fábio Pinheiro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Gremio NG's João Augusto Monteiro got a free kick in the 60th minute. In the 61st match minute, Gremio NG was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dino do Vale to maneuver through the defense. Bernardo Vinhas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Fábio Pinheiro made a huge save. Herminio Izel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 66 minutes, Luisinho Mangueira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SPFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luisinho Mangueira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Raimundo Travassos took the ball and in the 69 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dida Mazzola. Dida Mazzola dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. 74 minutes into the match, Gremio NG's goalkeeper Fábio Pinheiro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Herminio Izel. Gremio NG's Fábio Pinheiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Herminio Izel in the 77th minute of play. In the 79th minute, SPFC's Ernesto Prosperi ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Fábio Pinheiro. Fábio Pinheiro yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-4. After 81 minutes, Dino do Vale mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gremio NG and the SPFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of SPFC booed when Gremio NG was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dino do Vale didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fábio Pinheiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernesto Prosperi, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. After 91 minutes Gremio NG's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Agnaldo Santos who took care of the corner kick. Raimundo Travassos kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. SPFC played a much better game than Gremio NG and deserved their victory. The Gremio NG players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
