The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. EC Fragata's Luís Gustavo Barreto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agnaldo Santos in the 3rd minute of play. Dida Mazzola took the ball and in the 5 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Luís Gustavo Barreto. Luís Gustavo Barreto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 7th minute Agnaldo Santos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Gustavo Barreto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 8 minutes had been played when some careless play by EC Fragata's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Agnaldo Santos was slow to take the kick. During this time SPFC's players had a chance to rest. A very nice done corner allowed Dida Mazzola to score against Luís Gustavo Barreto in EC Fragata's goal. 0-2 after 9 minutes. 11 minutes into the game, Zézinho Trigo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. EC Fragata's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SPFC the free kick. After a rather tough play, EC Fragata's Zézinho Trigo got a free kick in the 11th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Agnaldo Santos in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Luís Gustavo Barreto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Anderson Couto managed to get in a good position for a shot. EC Fragata's supporters rose to their feet, but Anderson Couto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedro Augusto Abreu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luís Gustavo Barreto was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to EC Fragata getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Sydney Quirino hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, SPFC's Dito Brasil got a free kick in the 33rd minute. The referee gave EC Fragata a penalty, 36 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Sydney Quirino, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of SPFC's Pedro Augusto Abreu. 1-5. Emerson Sena took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Luís Gustavo Barreto. Luís Gustavo Barreto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-6. A collision led to EC Fragata getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Davi Silva hit a great ball. The EC Fragata players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. SPFC were winning 1-6.

Luís Gustavo Barreto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agnaldo Santos in the 52nd minute of the match. In the 54th minute, Anderson Couto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The EC Fragata fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-6. Kuzey Şahinter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Luís Gustavo Barreto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pedro Augusto Abreu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sydney Quirino in the 63rd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kuzey Şahinter got free with Luís Gustavo Barreto in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ernesto Prosperi took the ball and in the 66 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Luís Gustavo Barreto. Luís Gustavo Barreto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-8. With an all-out effort, SPFC's Luís Gustavo Barreto threw himself towards the right post 69 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ernesto Prosperi, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Davi Silva hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. A hard shot by Agnaldo Santos from long distance, 71 minutes into the match, got Luís Gustavo Barreto's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. 72 minutes into the match, Rodriguinho Alvarenga had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luís Gustavo Barreto. EC Fragata's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rodriguinho Alvarenga was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-9. In the 75th minute, Ernesto Prosperi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SPFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-10. In the 77th minute Ernesto Prosperi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Gustavo Barreto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luís Gustavo Barreto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kuzey Şahinter in the 79th minute. Luisinho Mangueira let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 81st minute shot 2-11 at rihgt post. SPFC's Kuzey Şahinter got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 87th minute, Dida Mazzola hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luís Gustavo Barreto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ernesto Prosperi in the 90th minute of the match. In the 94th minute of the match, Kuzey Şahinter got a very nice opportunity to score, but Luís Gustavo Barreto was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Luís Gustavo Barreto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernesto Prosperi, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. SPFC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
