Yan Zonta started the match with the kick off. After 3 played minutes XV Piracicaba got a freekick which was hit by Miguel Ángel Furland. After having played for 5 minutes, Yan Zonta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Esporte Clube Pilar's supporters crossed their fingers, but Yan Zonta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the XV Piracicaba defense, Claudinho Ramalho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fred Urbano. The XV Piracicaba fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fred Urbano should have stopped the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Yan Zonta in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fred Urbano saved XV Piracicaba from getting behind. Yan Zonta hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Roch Orszak made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Miguel Ángel Furland sent off a good shot on target. In the 13th minute, Miguel Ángel Furland reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Roch Orszak. The goal made the score 1-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Yan Zonta in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fred Urbano saved XV Piracicaba from getting behind. Esporte Clube Pilar's Yan Zonta got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With 30 minutes on the clock, Telmo Silva commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 29th minute, one of Esporte Clube Pilar:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Esporte Clube Pilar. In the 35th minute, Claudinho Ramalho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 37th minute, Adam Arnista ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fred Urbano was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Bautista Quintero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Fred Urbano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 42nd minute Claudinho Ramalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fred Urbano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 44th match minute, Esporte Clube Pilar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yan Zonta to maneuver through the defense. The XV Piracicaba players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Esporte Clube Pilar were winning 1-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Miguel Ángel Furland to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute XV Piracicaba were awarded a corner. Percy Batista went to the cornerflag to take it. After a rather tough play, XV Piracicaba's Felippe dos Santos got a free kick in the 55th minute. If Adam Arnista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Esporte Clube Pilar's goalkeeper Roch Orszak, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Fred Urbano made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Bautista Quintero sent off a good shot on target. After 66 minutes of play, Esporte Clube Pilar's Claudinho Ramalho made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fred Urbano was left in no man's land by his defense there! Bautista Quintero blasted a shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fred Urbano having to make a save. Roch Orszak came out of the goal in the 75th minute to try and stop a shot by XV Piracicaba's Miguel Ángel Furland. But to his dismay, Miguel Ángel Furland quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. In the 79th minute Miguel Ángel Furland shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roch Orszak saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miguel Ángel Furland in the 80th minute of play forced Esporte Clube Pilar's goalkeeper Roch Orszak to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 80 minutes into the game, Miguel Ángel Furland cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-3. Roch Orszak was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Miguel Ángel Furland in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Roch Orszak saved Esporte Clube Pilar from getting behind. After having played for 86 minutes, Bautista Quintero managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Esporte Clube Pilar's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bautista Quintero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of XV Piracicaba booed when Esporte Clube Pilar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bautista Quintero didn't get a good kick on the ball. XV Piracicaba succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Esporte Clube Pilar had controlled the match.
