In the 18th match minute, Verdão da Mantiqueira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roberto Tinoco to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when 陆光卫 got free with Laércio Eger in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Niklas Lundhberg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Valdir Tavares's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. Laércio Eger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 陆光卫 in the 31st minute of play. Niklas Lundhberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benjamim Pernambucano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Niklas Lundhberg didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Valdir Tavares went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Pecém's Laércio Eger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abel Linares in the 38th minute of play. Laércio Eger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 陆光卫 in the 39th minute of play. 46 minutes into the match, Pecém's goal looked a bit too open when Richie Scholey came free, but Laércio Eger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Teodoro Carioca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Niklas Lundhberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Valdir Tavares to make the kick off. Valdir Tavares who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 83rdth minute tested the skills of Niklas Lundhberg when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Vitinho Dante hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. The audience cheered when Benjamim Pernambucano's long shot passed Niklas Lundhberg's right side. It was 2-2, 85 minutes into the match. In the 88th match minute, Verdão da Mantiqueira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anísio Duarte to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Abel Linares managed to get in a good position for a shot. Verdão da Mantiqueira's supporters rose to their feet, but Abel Linares was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Laércio Eger breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Verdão da Mantiqueira fully deserved thier win.
