The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 8 minutes in the game, Bruno Henrique fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Gilmar Camargo having to interfere. Rony Barbosa hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. In the 10th minute, Rony Pinho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 11 minutes, Gerson Xavier managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Piem's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gerson Xavier was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dênis Alcântara recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bruno Henrique in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gilmar Camargo saved Piem from getting behind. In the 22nd minute, Rony Pinho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 23rd minute Gerson Xavier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chicão Peixoto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gato Preto FC's Chicão Peixoto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gerson Xavier in the 29th minute of play. When Anderson Carneiro fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gato Preto FC's protests and gave Anderson Carneiro a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Gato Preto FC's Anderson Carneiro got a free kick in the 30th minute. Chicão Peixoto came out of the goal in the 32nd minute to try and stop a shot by Piem's Gerson Xavier. But to his dismay, Gerson Xavier quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. In the 35th minute of the match Adalberto Coelho shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gilmar Camargo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Piem's Rony Pinho in the 37th minute got a chance for a shot 37th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Gato Preto FC's goalie prevented a goal. When Bruno Henrique came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Gato Preto FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bruno Henrique couldn't finish the play. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind Piem's goalkeeper Gilmar Camargo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Rony Pinho struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Chicão Peixoto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Piem. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bruno Henrique stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes in the game, Gerson Xavier fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Chicão Peixoto having to interfere. Gerson Xavier could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Chicão Peixoto made a huge save. 55 minutes into the match, Piem's goal looked a bit too open when Bruno Henrique came free, but Gilmar Camargo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gilmar Camargo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dênis Alcântara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Gato Preto FC's Dênis Alcântara in the 56th minute got a chance for a shot 56th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Piem's goalie prevented a goal. In the 58th match minute, Piem was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dinei Dracena to maneuver through the defense. Chicão Peixoto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rony Pinho in the 62nd minute of the match. Gerson Xavier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Chicão Peixoto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Chicão Peixoto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rony Pinho, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. In the 73rd minute, Robinho de Medeiros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Gato Preto FC getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Robinho de Medeiros hit a great ball. Gato Preto FC's Chicão Peixoto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Gato Preto FC from getting a goal against them. 79 minutes into the match, Bruno Henrique had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gilmar Camargo. Piem's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bruno Henrique was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. The supporters of Piem booed when Gato Preto FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dênis Alcântara didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Bruno Henrique had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gato Preto FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
