After 4 played minutes, Scragbadun FC's Anísio de Alcântara shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Henrique Prata came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Scragbadun FC reached it. In the 5th minute, Ingvar Wallin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Sport Club do Recife's Anselmo Moraes in the 8th minute got a chance for a shot 8th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Scragbadun FC's goalie prevented a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Scragbadun FC's zone, Gilmar Salles stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Percy Paiva came out of the goal and Gilmar Salles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Anselmo Moraes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sport Club do Recife's supporters rose to their feet, but Anselmo Moraes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Percy Paiva breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice moves Tomé Araújo could shoot a difficult shot in the 15th minute, which Henrique Prata however easily saved by the left post. After 23 played minutes Scragbadun FC got a freekick which was hit by Augusto Custódio. Anselmo Moraes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Anselmo Moraes in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Percy Paiva prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 30th minute, Yuri Freire hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 31st minute of the match Matías Mota sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Percy Paiva skillfully saved the ball. When Sport Club do Recife's Anselmo Moraes in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Scragbadun FC's Percy Paiva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anselmo Moraes in the 37th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ingvar Wallin got free with Henrique Prata in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sport Club do Recife's Henrique Prata proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Sport Club do Recife from getting a goal against them. Tomé Araújo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Henrique Prata made a huge save. Percy Paiva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anselmo Moraes in the 44th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomé Araújo made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Sport Club do Recife's Matías Mota got a free kick in the 55th minute. Henrique Prata made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomé Araújo in the 56th minute of play. In the 57th minute Ingvar Wallin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henrique Prata saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 60 minutes into the match, Scragbadun FC's goalkeeper Percy Paiva had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Anselmo Moraes. Scragbadun FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Anísio de Alcântara in the 65th minute. Tomé Araújo was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. After a rather tough play, Sport Club do Recife's Victor Mandrak got a free kick in the 76th minute. Tomé Araújo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sport Club do Recife played a much better game than Scragbadun FC and deserved their victory. The Scragbadun FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
