But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fede Gøl couldn't finish the play. Joacim Melander took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Erik Cordeiro. Erik Cordeiro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-5 lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joacim Melander stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Erik Cordeiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Vítor Cruz, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Joacim Melander could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Erik Cordeiro made a huge save. After 54 played minutes Limão Com Mel got a freekick which was hit by Hudson Porto. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Márcio Martini managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sport Club Internacional's supporters rose to their feet, but Márcio Martini was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Erik Cordeiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 57 minutes into the match, Limão Com Mel's goalkeeper Erik Cordeiro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Joacim Melander.
