After 4 played minutes Ceará got a freekick which was hit by Régis Cosme. 5 minutes into the match, Ceará's goal looked a bit too open when Enio Aguero came free, but Steve Kerr reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Régis Cosme hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. With his leg Jørn Brandvold managed to avoid a goal in the 14thth minute, when Ceará's Enrico Barducci fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Ceará's Steve Kerr played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enio Aguero in the 18th minute of play. After some careless play in the Quitauna F.C defense, Fernando Vander kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jørn Brandvold. The Quitauna F.C fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jørn Brandvold should have stopped the shot. If Fernando Vander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 32 minutes into the game, Régis Cosme threw the ball into play from the sideline. Quitauna F.C's Claudio-Di-Domenico von der Schulenburg quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Thomas Milert kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. After 39 played minutes Quitauna F.C got a freekick which was hit by Claudio-Di-Domenico von der Schulenburg. Enio Aguero struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Steve Kerr didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Quitauna F.C. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 50th match minute, Quitauna F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Enio Aguero to maneuver through the defense. In the 56th minute, Dieguinho Pinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Quitauna F.C getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Dieguinho Pinho hit a great ball. In the 58th minute of the match Vinícius Vander shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jørn Brandvold showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Steve Kerr showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Enio Aguero, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. In the 62nd minute Quitauna F.C were awarded a corner. Freddie Mercury went to the cornerflag to take it. Giovani Diniz kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Quitauna F.C's Cacá Baptista was substituted for Claudio-Di-Domenico von der Schulenburg. The supporters of Ceará booed when Quitauna F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Giovani Diniz didn't get a good kick on the ball. When David Barreto fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Quitauna F.C's protests and gave David Barreto a yellow card for diving instead. In the 79th match minute, Quitauna F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Barreto to maneuver through the defense. 84 minutes into the game, Enio Aguero cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Steve Kerr was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Enio Aguero recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Juarês Koehler hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match.
