In the 5th minute, Fernando Vander reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Osmar Soares. The goal made the score 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Beto Fernandes in the 8th minute of play forced Ceará's goalkeeper Steve Kerr to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 9 played minutes Ceará got a freekick which was hit by Thomas Milert. A collision led to ONZE BASTA FC getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Albertinho Barral hit a great ball. 13 minutes into the game, Fernando Vander cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Osmar Soares was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ciro Cordeiro struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Osmar Soares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ceará. Luiz Gustavo Soeiro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Steve Kerr read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. With his leg Osmar Soares managed to avoid a goal in the 22ndth minute, when Ceará's Fernando Vander fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Luiz Gustavo Soeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. ONZE BASTA FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Luiz Gustavo Soeiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fernando Vander stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Osmar Soares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ciro Cordeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Osmar Soares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ciro Cordeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Ceará's Vinícius Vander couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 96th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for ONZE BASTA FC. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Ceará fully deserved thier win.
