In the 3rd minute, Elias Viana got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Virgílio Carneiro in the 4th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edvaldo de Senna saved Bolacha SC from getting behind. Virgílio Carneiro did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Edvaldo de Senna 5 minutes into the match. Virgílio Carneiro had several of the Bolacha SC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 11 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 3-0 score and a disappointed Edvaldo de Senna as he didn't even see the shot coming. Unidade Popular were awarded a corner in the 16th minute after Bolacha SC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Raúl Prestes took the corner. Virgílio Carneiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Virgílio Carneiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Virgílio Carneiro in the 27th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Edvaldo de Senna kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 4-0 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. Zeca Cerezo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Virgílio Carneiro in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edvaldo de Senna saved Bolacha SC from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Elias Viana managed to get in a good position for a shot. Unidade Popular's supporters rose to their feet, but Elias Viana was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edvaldo de Senna breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 52nd minute, Virgílio Carneiro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Unidade Popular fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. Zeca Cerezo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Cláudio Siqueira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bolacha SC's Móric Hrdina got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 67th play minutes Virgílio Carneiro shot 7-0, a short shot which went by Edvaldo de Senna and just under the crossbar into goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Virgílio Carneiro in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edvaldo de Senna prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Unidade Popular getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Virgílio Carneiro hit a great ball. 77 minutes into the game, Bolacha SC's Móric Hrdina nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cláudio Siqueira made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-1. When Unidade Popular's Virgílio Carneiro in the 81st minute got a chance for a shot 81st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Bolacha SC's goalie prevented a goal. A collision led to Unidade Popular getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Jaime Schmidt hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Unidade Popular's zone, Zeca Cerezo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cláudio Siqueira came out of the goal and Zeca Cerezo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bolacha SC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
