Giovanni Schmidt was out of position in the 4 minute of play, and Abel Carvalho capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Abel Carvalho really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Geovânio Hoffmann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ramón Pernambucano in the 6th minute of the match. Enéas Passos might have been able to make a better finish in the 9th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Geovânio Hoffmann. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Enéas Passos ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 14th minute, David Aiach got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 16 played minutes Olímpico FC got a freekick which was hit by Gildo Linares. Prime Soon's late challenge caught a Olímpico FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Prime Soon helped the player get up and apologised. Abel Carvalho received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Giovanni Schmidt came out and tried to block the shot, but Abel Carvalho slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 22nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Olímpico FC's zone, Enéas Passos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Geovânio Hoffmann came out of the goal and Enéas Passos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ramón Pernambucano in the 28th minute of play forced Olímpico FC's goalkeeper Geovânio Hoffmann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 38th minute Nilton Martins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geovânio Hoffmann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and David Aiach made a kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by David Aiach during the 51st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 53rd match minute, Olímpico FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Aiach to maneuver through the defense. In the 55th minute, Prime Soon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Corinthians Paulistano's zone, Agnaldo Carneiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Giovanni Schmidt came out of the goal and Agnaldo Carneiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Olímpico FC getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Abel Carvalho hit a great ball. With an all-out effort, Corinthians Paulistano's Geovânio Hoffmann threw himself towards the right post 61 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Nilton Martins, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Nilton Martins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Geovânio Hoffmann tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Ramón Pernambucano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A sloppy throw-in by Prime Soon in the 72nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Olímpico FC's Agnaldo Carneiro. Giovanni Schmidt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abel Carvalho, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Geovânio Hoffmann took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nilton Martins, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. David Aiach took the ball and in the 84 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Giovanni Schmidt. Giovanni Schmidt dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. In the 88th minute, David Aiach got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ramón Pernambucano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Geovânio Hoffmann made a huge save. Enéas Passos was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 96th minute. Corinthians Paulistano's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance.
