The referee ignored Paraná Clube's protests and gave Edwards Freel a yellow card for diving instead. After 2 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Paraná Clube! Paraná Clube's Fabio Fillol played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Aiach in the 6th minute of play. After 12 played minutes Paraná Clube got a freekick which was hit by Genaro Seral. With a couple of smart ball manuevers David Aiach in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fabio Fillol saved Paraná Clube from getting behind. If David Aiach had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind Paraná Clube's goalkeeper Fabio Fillol, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 21 minutes into the game, Olímpico FC's Abel Carvalho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fabio Fillol made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Fabio Fillol didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from David Aiach went, in the 24th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abel Carvalho in the 27th minute of play forced Paraná Clube's goalkeeper Fabio Fillol to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 28th minute Olímpico FC were awarded a corner. Agnaldo Carneiro went to the cornerflag to take it. Gildo Linares was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. In the 30th minute, David Aiach left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Olímpico FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4.
