The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dagoberto Macedo in the 3rd minute of play forced Jaraguáriuno's goalkeeper Joel Linares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Barretos were awarded a corner in the 4th minute after Jaraguáriuno's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Dagoberto Macedo took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Dagoberto Macedo got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Joel Linares quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 11th minute, Dagoberto Macedo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Joel Linares was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Orlando Cunha during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Jaraguáriuno booed when Barretos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Orlando Cunha didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Jaraguáriuno's Vivaldo Mangueira got a free kick in the 25th minute. After 26 played minutes, Barretos's Dagoberto Macedo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Joel Linares came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Barretos reached it. 29 minutes into the game, Eliseo Locaio cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Joel Linares was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 32 minutes into the game, Barretos's Dagoberto Macedo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Joel Linares made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. After some careless play in the Jaraguáriuno defense, Dagoberto Macedo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joel Linares. The Jaraguáriuno fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joel Linares should have stopped the shot. Jaraguáriuno's Joel Linares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dagoberto Macedo in the 39th minute of play. Joel Linares was out of position in the 42 minute of play, and Dagoberto Macedo capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Dagoberto Macedo really showed his touch with that goal: 6-0. Adalberto Loyola received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Joel Linares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edgar de Sena made a kick off. In the 52ndth minute of the game Dagoberto Macedo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Jaraguáriuno's Joel Linares was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Joel Linares didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dagoberto Macedo went, in the 54th minute, to the upper right corner, 7-0 was the resulting score. 58 minutes into the match, Adalberto Loyola notched a goal, 8-0, to the right of Jaraguáriuno's Joel Linares. Joel Linares was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 61 minutes of play, Barretos's Adalberto Loyola made it 9-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joel Linares was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some careless play in the Jaraguáriuno defense, Adalberto Loyola kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joel Linares. The Jaraguáriuno fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joel Linares should have stopped the shot. After 72 minutes of play, Barretos's Dagoberto Macedo made it 11-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joel Linares was left in no man's land by his defense there! 74 minutes into the match, Adalberto Loyola had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joel Linares. Jaraguáriuno's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Adalberto Loyola was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 12-0. Josué Barbosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Joel Linares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dagoberto Macedo in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joel Linares saved Jaraguáriuno from getting behind. After having played for 83 minutes, Yuri Tepedino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jaraguáriuno's supporters crossed their fingers, but Yuri Tepedino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Zé Carlos Loyola managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jaraguáriuno's supporters rose to their feet, but Zé Carlos Loyola was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. José Augusto Damião breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Joel Linares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adalberto Loyola, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Barretos had played much better football throughout.
