Seating: 1770, VIP seats: 153) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Anísio Queirós kicked off to start the match. Andrézinho Barros made in the 4th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by E.C. RIO DE JANEIRO's Bebeto Sarmento. 4 minutes into the match, Barretos's goal looked a bit too open when Bebeto Sarmento came free, but José Augusto Damião reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. E.C. RIO DE JANEIRO's Neymar Junior managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Andrézinho Barros in the 6 minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anísio Queirós in the 9th minute of play forced Barretos's goalkeeper José Augusto Damião to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Barretos defense, Anísio Queirós kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of José Augusto Damião. The Barretos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that José Augusto Damião should have stopped the shot. Aymerick Nadal hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. 19 minutes into the game, Lion Messi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. E.C. RIO DE JANEIRO's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Barretos the free kick. E.C. RIO DE JANEIRO's Loramendi Cabarcos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save E.C. RIO DE JANEIRO from getting a goal against them. Adalberto Loyola's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 21stth minute, Loramendi Cabarcos skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 22nd minute Anísio Queirós shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Augusto Damião saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Anísio Queirós's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but José Augusto Damião was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anísio Queirós in the 27th minute of play forced Barretos's goalkeeper José Augusto Damião to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A sloppy throw-in by Orlando Cunha in the 29th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by E.C. RIO DE JANEIRO's Lion Messi. In the 30th minute, Anísio Queirós ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. José Augusto Damião was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. The E.C. RIO DE JANEIRO fans' excitement grew in the 36th match minute when E.C. RIO DE JANEIRO's Anísio Queirós looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 47 minutes into the game, Jurand Grucza threw the ball into play from the sideline. E.C. RIO DE JANEIRO's Lion Messi quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Anísio Queirós's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but José Augusto Damião read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 48th minute of play. After the first half E.C. RIO DE JANEIRO were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dagoberto Macedo was the one to do the kick off. Anísio Queiróss short, quick shot in the 52ndth minute got José Augusto Damião to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 55 minutes, Anísio Queirós made it 1-4 with a short kick to the right side. Barretos's José Augusto Damião tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Loramendi Cabarcos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dagoberto Macedo in the 60th minute of play. In the 62nd minute, Eliseo Locaio left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Barretos fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-4. Neymar Junior recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Oswaldo Rosa kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. After having played for 82 minutes, Lion Messi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. E.C. RIO DE JANEIRO's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lion Messi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Adalberto Loyola recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jurand Grucza made in the 94th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by E.C. RIO DE JANEIRO's Lion Messi. 96 minutes into the game, E.C. RIO DE JANEIRO's Anísio Queirós nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. José Augusto Damião made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-6. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. E.C. RIO DE JANEIRO walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
