In the 3rd minute, Anselmo Millano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Davi Rossi was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After 6 played minutes Cidade Nova got a freekick which was hit by Horácio Paulista. Furia Negra FC's Davi Rossi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anselmo Millano in the 11th minute of play. Davi Rossi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amauri Lago, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. In the 16th minute Anselmo Millano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Davi Rossi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 18th minute Fred Salles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bebeto Falcão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Furia Negra FC defense, Anselmo Millano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Davi Rossi. The Furia Negra FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Davi Rossi should have stopped the shot. Cristóvão Salgado hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Cidade Nova's Amauri Lago pulled a muscle in his leg after 26 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 26 minutes, Amílton Neves mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Furia Negra FC and the Cidade Nova players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Furia Negra FC getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Amílton Neves hit a great ball. In the 28th minute of the match Tião Gonçalves shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Davi Rossi showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Otávio Arruda lost his temper 29 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Otávio Arruda kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. In the 30th minute of the match Tião Gonçalves shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Davi Rossi showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Furia Negra FC's Wilson Machado got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Davi Rossi came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Cidade Nova's Anselmo Millano. But to his dismay, Anselmo Millano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fred Salles made a kick off. In the 53rdth minute of the game Fred Salles who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cidade Nova's Bebeto Falcão was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 57 minutes into the match, Furia Negra FC's goal looked a bit too open when Anselmo Millano came free, but Davi Rossi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wilson Machado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Bebeto Falcão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 71 minutes into the match, Fred Salles notched a goal, 1-4, to the right of Cidade Nova's Bebeto Falcão. Bebeto Falcão was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Anselmo Millano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Davi Rossi made a huge save. Davi Rossi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Anselmo Millano in the 80th minute. 82 minutes into the game, Waldir Pitta cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-5. Davi Rossi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 86th minute, Anselmo Millano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Davi Rossi was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-6. Cidade Nova played a much better game than Furia Negra FC and deserved their victory. The Furia Negra FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
