After a defensive mix-up in Zona de Combate's zone, Ladio Pis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Waldir Diniz came out of the goal and Ladio Pis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The corner ended in Claudinho Teles almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Zona de Combate's Waldir Diniz did a great save. Waldir Diniz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zeca Esteves, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 23 minutes, Florentino Ospin successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Zona de Combate's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Roger Porto in the 24th minute. The corner led Zona de Combate's Roger Porto to fire away a dangerous shot which Florentino Ospin despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Waldir Diniz came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Morabem EC's Claudinho Teles. But to his dismay, Claudinho Teles quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Waldir Diniz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudinho Teles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudinho Teles in the 33rd minute of play forced Zona de Combate's goalkeeper Waldir Diniz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Zona de Combate reached it. Morabem EC's Florentino Ospin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Morabem EC from getting a goal against them. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zeca Esteves was the one to do the kick off. When Aílton Capixaba fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Morabem EC's protests and gave Aílton Capixaba a yellow card for diving instead. Aílton Capixaba hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Waldir Diniz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claudinho Teles in the 58th minute of the match. Juarês Pernambucano lost his temper 60 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 60 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Zona de Combate! After 70 played minutes Morabem EC got a freekick which was hit by Anfilogino Serra. Caio Viana kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Claudinho Teles in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Waldir Diniz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 82 minutes into the game, Claudinho Teles recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Waldir Diniz. Claudinho Teles showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3. Tadeu Abreu kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. 88 minutes into the game, Zeca Esteves cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Waldir Diniz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a little luck, Zona de Combate's Waldir Diniz got control of the ball when Zeca Esteves tried to sneak it across the goal line. Roger Porto hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. Claudinho Teles struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Waldir Diniz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Morabem EC.
