Fluxo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tio Patinhas the free kick. In the 11th match minute, Fluxo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eriberto Valadares to maneuver through the defense. Orlando Castro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hudson Cordeiro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. Fluxo's Romário Catarinense got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 35 played minutes Tio Patinhas got a freekick which was hit by Laércio Pinheiro. In the 41st minute, Eriberto Valadares got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 42 minutes into the match, Fluxo's goal looked a bit too open when Geraldo Miranda came free, but Serafino Lopez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 44th match minute, Tio Patinhas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Evaristo Dracena to maneuver through the defense. Tio Patinhas's Hudson Cordeiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 48th minute of the match, managed to save Tio Patinhas from getting a goal against them. After the first half Tio Patinhas were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Orlando Castro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the game, Fluxo's Orlando Castro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hudson Cordeiro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Serafino Lopez made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Josué Oliveira sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Fluxo booed when Tio Patinhas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Evaristo Dracena didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 71st minute Romário Catarinense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hudson Cordeiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 72nd match minute, Tio Patinhas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Laércio Pinheiro to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 73 minutes, Orlando Castro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fluxo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Orlando Castro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Tio Patinhas booed when Fluxo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kléber de Mendonça didn't get a good kick on the ball. Serafino Lopez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geraldo Miranda in the 83rd minute of play. In the 84th minute Romário Catarinense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hudson Cordeiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 86 minutes into the match, Orlando Castro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hudson Cordeiro. Tio Patinhas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Orlando Castro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. 89 minutes into the game, Romário Catarinense cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Hudson Cordeiro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 97th minute there was a penalty for Fluxo. Edmundo de Sousa stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Hudson Cordeiro. 4-2. Many of Tio Patinhas's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Tio Patinhas may have spent more time on the ball, but Fluxo were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
