When the match clock showed 40 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Witold Gotfryd sped through Defensores F.C.'s defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Augusto Lara. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cristian de Queiroz during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Augusto Lara made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. In the 95th minute Zeca Queiroz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicky Williamson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nicky Williamson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zeca Queiroz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 97 minutes into the match, Lucas Lopez notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of Defensores F.C.'s Augusto Lara. Augusto Lara was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the referee ended the match the OS IMPOSSIVEIS players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
