Spectators: 7673 (Terracing: 5755, Seating: 1765, VIP seats: 153) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Niceto Xacintu took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 7th minute Valdemar de Moraes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Paulo Romero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luís Paulo Romero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valdemar de Moraes in the 8th minute of play. 9 minutes had been played when some careless play by Flying Dutch's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Agostinho de Carvalho was slow to take the kick. During this time Papunhas EC's players had a chance to rest. 10 minutes into the match, Cido de Medeiros notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Papunhas EC's Ismael Nazario Serre. Ismael Nazario Serre was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Alexsandro Tróia came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Flying Dutch fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alexsandro Tróia couldn't finish the play. In the 15thth minute of the game Alexsandro Tróia who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Papunhas EC's Ismael Nazario Serre was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Inácio Matorin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 20 minutes into the match, Papunhas EC's goal looked a bit too open when Alexsandro Tróia came free, but Ismael Nazario Serre reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ismael Nazario Serre showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cido de Medeiros in the 22nd minute of the match. Valdemar de Moraes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Luís Paulo Romero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Flying Dutch's Alexsandro Tróia in the 32nd minute got a chance for a shot 32nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Papunhas EC's goalie prevented a goal. 33 minutes into the game, Agostinho de Carvalho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Luís Paulo Romero was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Papunhas EC's Ismael Nazario Serre played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexsandro Tróia in the 39th minute of play. After 41 played minutes Papunhas EC got a freekick which was hit by Valério Linhares. 45 minutes into the match, Fabian Ivașcu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ismael Nazario Serre. Papunhas EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fabian Ivașcu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Valdemar de Moraes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Paulo Vander came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Papunhas EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulo Vander couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Valdemar de Moraes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Papunhas EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Valdemar de Moraes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luís Paulo Romero breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 65th minute, one of Papunhas EC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Papunhas EC. After 68 minutes Papunhas EC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Thiago de Mendonça who took care of the corner kick. In the 73rd match minute, Flying Dutch was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Xu Jing to maneuver through the defense. After 75 played minutes Flying Dutch got a freekick which was hit by Cido de Medeiros. Luís Paulo Romero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Vander in the 75th minute of play. Flying Dutch's Luís Paulo Romero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Inácio Matorin in the 77th minute of play. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind Flying Dutch's goalkeeper Luís Paulo Romero, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 81 minutes into the match, Papunhas EC's goalkeeper Ismael Nazario Serre had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alexsandro Tróia. In the 83rd minute, Paulo Vander left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Papunhas EC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. In the 86th minute Alexsandro Tróia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ismael Nazario Serre saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Papunhas EC booed when Flying Dutch was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jardel Pinheiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 95th minute, Inácio Matorin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luís Paulo Romero came out of the goal in the 97th minute to try and stop a shot by Papunhas EC's Agostinho de Carvalho. But to his dismay, Agostinho de Carvalho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-2. Flying Dutch's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
