An unexpectedly hard shot by Alf Odman in the 16th minute of play forced Academia B.F.'s goalkeeper Johan Vollander to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Primo Sans scored 0-1 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nestor Torres, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Academia B.F.'s Wiliam Carioca got a free kick in the 21st minute. When Primo Sans came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Academia B.F. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Primo Sans couldn't finish the play. If Primo Sans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wiliam Carioca couldn't finish the play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Primo Sans was the one to do the kick off. After 55 played minutes Morungaba SC got a freekick which was hit by Oscar de Moraes. Academia B.F.'s attentive Cemil Acarbay managed to snatch the ball when Denílson França made a throw-in in the 60th minute of the game. 62 minutes into the match, Morungaba SC's goalkeeper Nestor Torres had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Primo Sans.
