After a defensive mix-up in E.C 2 Janeiro RS's zone, Kanuni-Sultan Süleyman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Telmo Madureira came out of the goal and Kanuni-Sultan Süleyman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to E.C 2 Janeiro RS getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Raphael de Salles hit a great ball. Kanuni-Sultan Süleyman in the 8thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Telmo Madureira, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Telmo Madureira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nilmar Paraense in the 9th minute. In the 11th minute of the match, Kanuni-Sultan Süleyman got a very nice opportunity to score, but Telmo Madureira was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 15th minute, Dino Seco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. E.C 2 Janeiro RS's Telmo Madureira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save E.C 2 Janeiro RS from getting a goal against them. Kanuni-Sultan Süleyman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Telmo Madureira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. In the 23rd minute of the match Corinthians Paulista got a corner. E.C 2 Janeiro RS's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Sergi Ramos ran over to the corner to take the kick. Nilmar Paraense recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 27th minute, Dino Seco ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Telmo Madureira was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. In the 36th minute, Kanuni-Sultan Süleyman reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Telmo Madureira. The goal made the score 2-0. Kaká Ramalho's late challenge caught a Corinthians Paulista's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kaká Ramalho helped the player get up and apologised. Telmo Madureira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nilmar Paraense in the 40th minute of play. Sergi Ramos made a great header on Corinthians Paulista's corner, it was just that E.C 2 Janeiro RS's Telmo Madureira managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind E.C 2 Janeiro RS's goalkeeper Telmo Madureira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kanuni-Sultan Süleyman stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Corinthians Paulista's zone, Raphael de Salles stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anderson Trigo came out of the goal and Raphael de Salles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Corinthians Paulista were awarded a corner in the 78th minute after E.C 2 Janeiro RS's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Sergi Ramos took the corner. A very nice done corner allowed Kanuni-Sultan Süleyman to score against Telmo Madureira in E.C 2 Janeiro RS's goal. 4-0 after 78 minutes. Telmo Madureira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kanuni-Sultan Süleyman in the 82nd minute of play. In the 83rd minute, Dino Seco left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Corinthians Paulista fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. E.C 2 Janeiro RS's Telmo Madureira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kanuni-Sultan Süleyman in the 87th minute of play. After some careless play in the E.C 2 Janeiro RS defense, Nilmar Paraense kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Telmo Madureira. The E.C 2 Janeiro RS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Telmo Madureira should have stopped the shot. In the 94th minute Kanuni-Sultan Süleyman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Telmo Madureira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 95th minute, Humberto Paes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
