But to his dismay, Washington dos Santos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. JotaPaTos's Edu Motta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Franklin Velasco in the 27th minute of play. Edu Motta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Franklin Velasco in the 33rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Franklin Velasco in the 40th minute of play forced JotaPaTos's goalkeeper Edu Motta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 41st minute Franklin Velasco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edu Motta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 43 minutes into the game, Washington dos Santos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Clube Esportivo Aimoré's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave JotaPaTos the free kick. In the 43rd match minute, Clube Esportivo Aimoré was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Washington dos Santos to maneuver through the defense. If Guga Seco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Guga Seco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to JotaPaTos getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Felippe Mineiro hit a great ball. The supporters of JotaPaTos booed when Clube Esportivo Aimoré was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maurício Sanches didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Caetano Tróia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guga Seco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Guga Seco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Waldir Seco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Guga Seco's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Waldir Seco was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. With a little luck, JotaPaTos's Edu Motta got control of the ball when Franklin Velasco tried to sneak it across the goal line. Franklin Velasco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hudson Veiga hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. If Franklin Velasco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in JotaPaTos's zone, Nilmar Pontes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edu Motta came out of the goal and Nilmar Pontes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 93rd minute, Giovanni Xavier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Waldir Seco stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Guga Seco's shot from short distance in the 95th minute. JotaPaTos's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Giovanni Xavier in the 97th minute. At last the ball reached Guga Seco at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of Clube Esportivo Aimoré. 2-2. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Clube Esportivo Aimoré players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
