Enio da Silva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Waldir Seco having to interfere. The Lucas Juniors players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Clube Esportivo Aimoré were winning 0-3.

In the 55th minute, Lucas Juniors's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Washington dos Santos fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After having played for 79 minutes, Eduino Provencio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Clube Esportivo Aimoré's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eduino Provencio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Lucas Juniors getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Severino Furlan hit a great ball. 81 minutes into the match, Clube Esportivo Aimoré's Antônio Carlos Matos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dário Saldanha narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Lucas Juniors's Enio da Silva got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Washington dos Santos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dário Saldanha having to interfere. When the match was over Clube Esportivo Aimoré could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Lucas Juniors throughout the match.
