The sortedabet fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Norberto Gomes should have stopped the shot. Flávio Mineiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Norberto Gomes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luís Gustavo Guedes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Eriberto Queirós tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sture Vik kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. 24 minutes into the game, Geraldo Fernandez cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Norberto Gomes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sérgio Jacinto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Geraldo Fernandez's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Norberto Gomes was relentless in the 47th minute of the game. After the first half Engenheiros da Vila were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luís Gustavo Guedes to make the kick off. 50 minutes into the match, Flávio Mineiro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Norberto Gomes. sortedabet's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Flávio Mineiro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-6. Engenheiros da Vila's supporters crossed their fingers, but Geraldo Fernandez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Norberto Gomes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sérgio Jacinto in the 60th minute of play. Engenheiros da Vila's Eriberto Queirós played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 沈浩竞 in the 61st minute of play. When Geraldo Fernandez came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Engenheiros da Vila fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Geraldo Fernandez couldn't finish the play. When Luís Gustavo Guedes fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored sortedabet's protests and gave Luís Gustavo Guedes a yellow card for diving instead. In the 66th minute, Wesley Salgado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. But to his dismay, Luís Gustavo Guedes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-6. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Geraldo Fernandez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Engenheiros da Vila's supporters rose to their feet, but Geraldo Fernandez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Norberto Gomes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 79 minutes into the match, Flávio Mineiro notched a goal, 1-7, to the right of sortedabet's Norberto Gomes. Norberto Gomes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 87th minute, Engenheiros da Vila's Geraldo Fernandez ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Norberto Gomes. Norberto Gomes yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-8. Geraldo Fernandez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Norberto Gomes having to interfere. In the 92nd match minute, sortedabet was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cafu Messias to maneuver through the defense. If Geraldo Fernandez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the final whistle sounded Engenheiros da Vila left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than sortedabet.
