After 4 minutes Vermelho 23's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Elano Guerra who took care of the corner kick. 6 minutes into the match, Elano Guerra had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Raimundo Prestes. Vermelho 23's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Elano Guerra was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. 11 minutes into the match, Vermelho 23's goal looked a bit too open when Adriano Hoffmann came free, but Raimundo Prestes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With an all-out effort, Boca Juniors's Raimundo Prestes threw himself towards the right post 14 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Adriano Hoffmann, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 15th minute, Adriano Hoffmann hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vermelho 23's Raimundo Prestes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Flávio Paraibano in the 24th minute of play. Raimundo Prestes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Flávio Paraibano in the 24th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Boca Juniors's Frank Toscano got a free kick in the 28th minute. Mathias Sabóia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Carlos Duarte, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. In the 36th minute Adrianinho Cruz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mathias Sabóia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Vermelho 23's Raimundo Prestes got control of the ball when Frank França tried to sneak it across the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Frank França to strike the kick off in the second half. Raimundo Prestes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adriano Hoffmann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adriano Hoffmann in the 54th minute of play forced Vermelho 23's goalkeeper Raimundo Prestes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bruninho Baiano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Flávio Paraibano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raimundo Prestes having to interfere. In the 62nd minute, Frank França hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Adrianinho Cruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Raimundo Prestes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adriano Hoffmann, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. In the 74thth minute of the game Adriano Hoffmann who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vermelho 23's Raimundo Prestes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Raimundo Prestes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frank França, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A sloppy throw-in by Elder Eger in the 82nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Boca Juniors's Ronaldo Marques. When Narciso Paraense came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Vermelho 23 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Narciso Paraense couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Boca Juniors getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Ronaldo Marques hit a great ball. The supporters of Vermelho 23 booed when Boca Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elano Guerra didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 95th minute of the match Zé Carlos Duarte sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mathias Sabóia skillfully saved the ball. Many of Vermelho 23's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Vermelho 23 may have spent more time on the ball, but Boca Juniors were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
