The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Velcho Rolanski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adriano Leite in the 5th minute of the match. Velcho Rolanski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Angelo Loyola in the 11th minute of play. Rey Cannavaro kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. After 16 played minutes Angelo Loyola rounded Teresópolis F.C's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-0. In the 20th minute, Fred Viana got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the Teresópolis F.C defense, Angelo Loyola kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Velcho Rolanski. The Teresópolis F.C fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Velcho Rolanski should have stopped the shot. In the 25th minute Angelo Loyola shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Velcho Rolanski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucjan Klewinski in the 26th minute of play forced Corti's goalkeeper Ulisses Souza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Corti's Adriano Leite was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 30th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. In the 36th minute, Adriano Leite hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ulisses Souza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucjan Klewinski in the 42nd minute of the match. In the 44th minute Angelo Loyola shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Velcho Rolanski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 45 minutes into the game, Luiz Eduardo Rocha was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Teresópolis F.C's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Corti the free kick. A collision led to Teresópolis F.C getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. The wind increased when Lucjan Klewinski made the kick off in the second half. Ulisses Souza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucjan Klewinski in the 51st minute of the match. In the 52nd minute, Ali Emir Ayık hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 54 played minutes Corti got a freekick which was hit by Jacinto Pinto. An unexpected shot in the 62nd minute by Lucjan Klewinski got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 71 minutes into the match, Teresópolis F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Adriano Leite came free, but Velcho Rolanski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Fred Viana came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Teresópolis F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fred Viana couldn't finish the play. Teresópolis F.C's Michel Shevchenko was substituted for Lucjan Klewinski. In the 84th minute Teresópolis F.C were awarded a corner. Luís Schmidt went to the cornerflag to take it. Luís Schmidt made a great header on Teresópolis F.C's corner, it was just that Corti's Ulisses Souza managed to reach the ball for a save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Adriano Leite during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Teresópolis F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Michel Shevchenko was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
