Ove Ahlström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adriano Leite, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Angelo Loyola sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Corti getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Jacinto Pinto hit a great ball. Wang Qing took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 21st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ulisses Souza. Corti's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Edmílson Gaspar's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ove Ahlström read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. Leopoldo Tavares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulisses Souza having to interfere. In the 30th match minute, Tigre das Américas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dudu Peres to maneuver through the defense. Cido Soutos short, quick shot in the 33rdth minute got Ulisses Souza to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Gualter Pinheiro hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. 38 minutes into the match, Adriano Leite had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ove Ahlström. Tigre das Américas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Adriano Leite was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Ulisses Souza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hulk Fenomeno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee gave Corti a penalty, 44 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Sidnei Correia, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Tigre das Américas's Ove Ahlström. 0-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Ove Ahlström didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edmílson Gaspar went, in the 51st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Corti's Leopoldo Dantas got a free kick in the 53rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Tigre das Américas's zone, Edmílson Gaspar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ove Ahlström came out of the goal and Edmílson Gaspar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ove Ahlström made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Adriano Leite sent off a good shot on target. In the 59th minute, Angelo Loyola reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ove Ahlström. The goal made the score 0-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dudu Peres in the 64th minute of play forced Corti's goalkeeper Ulisses Souza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 65 minutes of play, Corti's Angelo Loyola made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ove Ahlström was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ulisses Souza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cido Souto, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Leopoldo Dantas charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leopoldo Dantas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Leopoldo Dantas kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Corti's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
